Corbilt Group of Companies is seeking a Mechanical Drafting and Design Technician to work in our North Okanagan facility. We are searching for candidates who have knowledge and experience with sawmill, planer mill, pneumatic conveying and general industrial design. The ideal candidate is fluent with AutoCAD 2D software and has the ability to conceptualize and design specialized industrial, pneumatic conveying and other general industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and experience:
- Ability to communicate and work with engineers, architects, tradespersons, and clients.
- Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings
- Ability to work on tight project deadlines both independently and as a member of the team.
- Ability to assist in the preparation of design drawings and details using AutoCad
- Ability to complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Ability to understand the process and details of fabrication from designs to drawings to patterns.
- Ability to create (or modify existing) mechanical component, assembly and detail drawings.
- Must possess a team-oriented work approach with the ability to work independently.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must possess exceptional attention to detail, specifically in accuracy of completeness and accuracy of drawings, calculations and data
- Must possess a highly self-motivated work ethic with problem solving skills
- Must possess a strong knowledge of drafting techniques and standards.
- Must possess willingness to learn and grow with an Industry leader.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office products knowledge, outlook, word and excel required.
Items to note:
- Travel to customer sites required in North America (Passport is essential)
- Experience in Forestry, Mining or Bulk Handling Manufacturing is ideal, but not required
- Hand Drafting Experience is considered an asset to your application
- Solidworks 3D software knowledge a plus, but not required.
- Salary: Negotiated based on knowledge, experience and interview results.
- This position is a full time employee position at the Corbilt Group of Companies location in Mara BC. At this time we are not accepting sub-contracting proposals.
